May Day Baskets, dancing round the Maypole......

Last year I shared with you, for my Beltane (Beltaine) post, that as a youngster we actually did dance around the Maypole at school......until the school system influenced by a world in fear of communism banned May Day celebrations of any sort.

I also still take little May day baskets of flowers to my neighbors because it is what I learned as a child.

So to all of you, Happy 1st of May.

  5. Is it weird that I have to have a clean house in order to get down on it? Guess who will be scrubbing tubs as foreplay today : )

  8. Happy May Day. I can remember a May pole dance in grammer school. It was my first and only pole dance.

  12. Our elementary school celebrated May Day with a May Queen and her court (I was the one with the lavender cumberbund with my white May Day dress) and the entire sixth grade danced around May Poles. Wonderful memory.

  13. We were just talking about the May day habit at my creativity group this week. Glad some traditions haven't entirely disappeared, what could be sweeter than this one? So innocent and purely giving.
